Pipe bomb found near Ririe
A pipe bomb was found in a home near Ririe on Monday.
Shawn Heath was in jail after being arrested over the weekend on a charge of domestic battery, said Sgt. Jeff Edwards of the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office.
Heath’s girlfriend was at the house on the 12000 North block of 115 East to pick up some belongings when she discovered the pipe bomb. Heath had told her not to touch anything in the bedroom.
Deputies found the pipe bomb, as well as bomb-making materials. A bomb squad exploded the device and cleaned up the materials.
The prosecutor is now reviewing additional charges against Heath.
