Car rolls onto top in crash near Ririe

One person was hospitalized in a two-car accident near Ririe on Tuesday night.

Steven Lott, 55, of Idaho Falls, was traveling eastbound in a Volkswagen Jettaon U.S. Highway 26 trying to turn north onto 160th East around 7:30 p.m. Skyler Higgins, 40, of Pocatello, was driving a Subaru Legacy westbound on the highway.

Idaho State Police said Lott failed to yield the left turn and was struck by Higgins. Upon collision, Lott’s vehicle rolled onto its top. Lott’s passenger, Denise Lott, 62 of Idaho Falls, was transported by air ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Lanes were blocked for a half-hour for the air ambulance.
