Man dies after school construction accident

A man died while working on the new Longfellow Elementary School on Monday morning.

Jeffrey D. Jaggar, 40, was working on the site on 2500 South Higbee in Idaho Falls for Wheeler Electric. He was hurt installing a new piece of electrical equipment, said Shay Moon of Bateman Hall, the construction manager of the building project.

The Idaho Falls Fire Department responded. Emergency crews transported Jaggar to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, where he died Monday night.

Additional details of the accident have not been released.

Moon said the construction team extended its condolences to Jaggar’s family.

“When we lose someone in construction, we have lost part of our family,” said Moon.

Jaggar’s obituary called him a “loving husband, father, brother and son.”
