Man accused of punching officer

An Idaho Falls man was arrested after allegedly attacking a police officer during a routine traffic stop early Wednesday morning.

Glenn E. Campbell, 24, was driving a pickup on the 2400 block of South Yellowstone around 1:30 a.m. when an Idaho Falls police officer pulled him over. During the stop, Campbell became combative, swung his arm and punched the officer in the upper chest, police said.

Campbell was arrested on charges of battery on an officer (a felony), inattentive driving and resisting arrest.

He was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
