INL encourages women in science

The event is held to encourage young girls to pursue a future in Science. Eighth grade girls from several eastern Idaho schools attended the event. They were able to do science experiments to learn about the Snake River Aquifer and the wonders of physics and chemistry.

The girls were able to hear from women who have careers in Science like Idaho State University Physics student Dayah Chrisman.

“A lot of women kinda feel like they should go into certain fields, but knowing that they can go into physics and be successful, or into any science in general, is nice to hear,” she said.

This is the sixth year that the lab has hosted the event.
