Street Renovation Project on track

A Street Renovation Project in St. Anthony is on track to start in 2016. It has been years in the making, but construction drawings are finally in place for the $2.5 million project.

It is called the ‘West Main Project.’ The city applied for a grant to refurbish West Main St. for 12 blocks. The grant was received 12 years ago, but city leaders were waiting for environmental studies to be complete.

“It will consist of a complete reconstruction. All of the asphalt will be taken out any curbs or gutters or sidewalks will be taken out and all of that will be put back in new again,” said Mayor Neils Thueson.

Construction will start in 2016.
