Motivational speaker appears as part of Nurses Week

Nurses Week continued at Portneuf Medical Center on Friday withmotivational speaker and fellow nurse Rich Bluni. Bluni said one thing to know about nurses is their drive to care for you, sometimes burning themselves out.

He said that’s why he does presentations like this, making sure nurses have their spirit and purpose revived through stories. He said that’s why nurses get into health care in the first place, and sometimes they just need someone to help them feel refreshed and remember why they do what they do.

“I’ve never seen a nurse say ‘Your assignment today is to go hold that person’s hand when they’re dying,'” Bluni said. “But you’ll never meet a nurse who won’t do that.”

Nurses week happens every year May 6-12. For more information about Nurses Week, check out our story earlier this week:http://bit.ly/SJTwX6
