Man arrested after musician gets mandolin case in face
A Utah man is facing aggravated battery charges in Idaho after police said he whacked another man in the face with his mandolin case.
Idaho Falls police arrested 38-year-old Samuel M. Cottrell after he turned himself in.
Police said Cottrell and the victim were in a band that performed at the Celt in downtown Idaho Falls.
Cottrell and the victim started arguing as the band was loading up gear in the early morning hours of March 15.
The argument turned physical, and Cottrell struck the victim in the face with a mandolin case, police said.
The victim was treated at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and released.
