Rocky Mountain Power gives causes of Thursday’s outages
Rocky Mountain Power officials have given more information on a couple of power outages that affected nearly 3,000 customers Thursday night.
One of them affected approximately 2,500 customers in parts of Idaho Falls, Lewisville, Menan, Rigby, Rexburg and St. Anthony. This was due to a jumper cable breaking at the Rigby substation, the utility said.
The power was out for about two hours, from 9 to 11 p.m.
A separate outage occurred at 7:30 p.m. in the Shelley area, affecting some 100 customers.
A spokesman said a tree hit a power line causing the outage. It was restored by 10:30 p.m.
