Woman rushed to hospital after driving into the Snake River

An Idaho Falls woman drove her Ford Explorer into the Snake River across from South Tourist Park in Idaho Falls Tuesday night.

There was only one woman in the SUV and she was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center with minor injuries

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Department’s dive team located the vehicle at 8:45 pm and removed it with a tow truck on Milligan Road.

Dean Martin was camping at South Tourist Park when the car drove into the river.

“Just heard somebody screaming for help, at first I thought it was a kid,” said Martin “Then you could tell it was trouble, so I dialed 911 immediately and went to go find where the noise came from.”

The Idaho Falls Police Department says they are continuing to investigate the incident.
