Brush fire breaks out near Chubbuck and Fort Hall

Fire crews from Fort Hall and Bannock County responded to a brush fire northwest of Chubbuck Friday evening.

The fire broke out around 6:45pm in a field nearthe intersection of Siphon Road and Laughran Road, on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation.

The Shoshone Bannock Tribes Department of Public Safety saysSupport Crews were called in from Bannock County Sheriff, Bannock County Search and Rescue, Inkom Fire, Pocatello Fire, Chubbuck Fire, Fort Hall Corrections, Fort Hall Police, Fort Hall Transportation, and Fort Hall Fire is Incident Command.

Fire officials at the fire tell our reporter, a few homes nearby the fire were evacuated as a precaution.

Several nearby roads were closed, while crews worked to contain the fire

There are no reports of any damage to structures, and there is no word on the cause.
