UPDATE: Names released in deadly Highway 26 crash

A woman was killed Sunday in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 26 in Bonneville County.

Passenger Ty Nichols, 29, of Pocatello died from her injures at the crash.

Idaho State Police said the accident occurred when Joshua Nichols of Pocatello was driving west in a pickup pulling a small camp trailer. Nichols was sitting in the front passenger side of the pickup.

The trailer fishtailed, and the pickup went across the center line, hitting a car driven by Renee Feirtag of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

After hitting the car, the pickup flipped on its side, separating from the trailer.

The car hit the guardrail and stopped in the middle of the highway near the rest area northeast of Ririe.

Joshua and four juveniles were taken by ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Renne, one adult passenger and two other juveniles were also taken by ambulance to EIRMC.

Highway 26 was blocked in both directions with limited traffic flow for about 5 hours.

As of Sunday evening, there was one lane open in each direction.
