Woman’s body found in park
A woman was found dead in Yellowstone National Park on Tuesday.
The park said Kassandra “Kassie” Wieferich, 21, a park concession employee from Twin Bridges, Montana, had missed several shifts at work. She had also not met a family member the previous afternoon as planned.
After a brief search in the Old Faithful Lodge area, authorities found her body close to the point where she was last seen by a co-worker.
Park officials waited until Wednesday to announce her death as family members needed to be notified.
Further information was not released.
National Park Service park rangers and special agents are investigating her death.
