Human remains found near Snow King Mountain
A survey crew found human remains in Jackson.
Law enforcement officials learned of the find around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
In a news release Thursday morning, Jackson police said the remains were in the area of the Sink or Swim Trail on the base of Snow King Mountain.
Jackson police and Teton County, Wyoming, deputies verified the remains were indeed human and had been there for an extended period of time. Authorities are investigating, but they do not suspect foul play at this time.
The Teton County Coroner’s Office has the remains and is working with the Jackson Police Department identity of the person, as well as the cause and time of death.
Police said the case may be connected with “despondent resident” Christian James Polly, who was reported missing July 3.
More information should be released in the next few days as the investigation progresses.
