American Red Cross responds to Monarch fire

The American Red Cross is providing assistance for 15 adults displaced by the Monarch fire in Old Town Pocatello Friday.

A Red Cross Disaster Action Team arrived on the scene about 11:50 a.m. Hotel rooms for building tenants had already been secured by the building’s owner. The Red Cross was working with people on a one-to-one basis to assess their immediate need of toiletries, food, clothing and shoes.

The agency said it can also assist with the replacement of prescription medications, eye glasses, contacts or other medical items destroyed in the fire.
