Annual Sagebrush Art Festival draws record numbers

The annual Sagebrush Art Festival painted a bigger picture than ever before, drawing-out more than 50 new vendors to the Idaho State University Campus in Pocatello.

The three-day festival supports the Pcoatello Arts Council, and event sponsors say it aims to encourage more people throughout the community to get involved in any sort of art form imaginable.

Anything from music to woodworking was represented at this year’s festival.

Festival chairman Carolyn Purnell said the festival was started in 1961, which was then called “Art in the Park” before it was moved to Ross Park and then to its current location in 2003. She said it remains to be the only art festival in Pocatello.

Purnell said applications for next year’s festival will go online soon. You can contact the group here:http://www.pocatelloartctr.org/Sagebrush.html
