Angela Forhan honored with Distinguished Student Award
Angela Forhan is president of Century High School’s Interact Club. They work with Rotary Club on service projects like collecting and sorting used clothes for the needy. Usually Interact Clubs help for a few hours with a handful of projects. But under Forhan’s leadership, the club at Century has done 41 service projects – donating 700 hours last year alone. The Rotary Club is thrilled.
“That’s why you see so many of us here today. It’s because of her — she’s wonderful,” Rotary member Saied Rezaii said.
Forhan also volunteers for food drives and recycling projects.
“I discovered I really love doing service,” Forhan said. “It’s my passion. I just find it to be fun.”
When Forhan isn’t serving she’s studying. She takes hard classes like AP physics and AP calculus while getting a 4.14 GPA.
“I believe if you don’t challenge yourself, you’re never going to grow,” Forhan said.
Angela plans to major in mechanical engineering and minor is business. She has this advice for other students.
“Your should surround yourself with people that are going to make you a better person and achieve higher goals, and make you a more successful person,” Forhan said.
