Veterans receive Spirit of Freedom award

Four Pocatello veterans received the Spirit of Freedom award for their service at a ceremony at the Idaho State Veterans Home Tuesday afternoon.

The awards, which are given out each year by Sen. Mike Crapo, went to a total of 20 veterans and volunteers this year, including four veterans and one volunteer in our area.

The four Pocatello veterans awarded include: William Ferrin, who served in the Vietnam War; Harry Gustafson, who served in World War II; Carl Murray, who served in World War II; and Daniel Verwolf, who served in the Vietnam War.

Lori Marvin, a volunteer at the Veterans Home, was also given an award.
