Nearly 400 turkey boxes given to local families

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Idaho Falls is giving back to the community during the holiday season.

On Monday, organizer Kelli Marshall and local high school students handed out nearly 400 turkey boxes. The boxes include: a turkey, pie, potatoes, vegetables and much more. It also included a $10 gift card.

Churches, schools and different organizations donated the goods. Parents who received a letter from their children’s elementary school picked up the boxes Monday.

“This is so important because there is such a need in Idaho Falls and this has turned into ecumenical outreach, which is fabulous. We now help service so many people and so many people in this area have helped us,” said Marshall.

The event started in the 1990s and has grown each year.
