Cars crash in Roberts dust storm

Blowing dust near Roberts led to multiple crashes on Interstate 15 on Saturday afternoon.

Idaho State Police said high winds caused a dust storm, and many drivers were driving too fast with zero visibility, causing a chain-reaction crash around 2:45 p.m.

Vehicles involved included two commercial vehicles, three pickups, two SUVs and two passenger cars.

Ten people were transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

That section of I-15 was closed in both directions for about seven hours.
