Idaho Falls man arraigned in arson case
An Idaho Falls man was arraigned on a charge of first-degree arson Thursday.
Melvin J. Savage, 44, is accused of starting a fire at a home on the 4000 block of Cambria Drive around 1:30 a.m. Dec. 15. The fire was quickly put out.
The owner of the house had previously represented Savage’s ex-wife in divorce proceedings.
Savage was arrested in Colorado the following day.
His preliminary hearing will be held later this month.
