Shelley football coach moving to Century High

Century High School officials named Travis Hobson the new head football coach for the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, replacing Dave Spillet.

Hobson became the head coach at Shelley High School in 2012 and led the Russets to an undefeated record of 12-0. In 2013, he posted a record of 11-1, winning back-to-back 3A state championships. In three years, Hobson posted a 30-5 overall record.

Spillet left Century earlier in the off-season to go to Pocatello High School.

Hobson takes over a Century team that went 4-6 overall a year ago and lost to Sandpoint in the first round of the State 4-A playoffs.
