CEO named for casino

A CEO has been hired over the Shoshone-Bannock Gaming Operation and Hotel & Event Center, the tribes announced Monday.

John Phillipp will oversee the two operations after the Fort Hall Business Council chose to combine management of both properties.

Phillipp has 30 years of experience with corporate and tribal casinos across the country, in “virtually all casino operating departments,” from room service waiter to chief operating officer.

He holds a BBA and MBA from Baker University of Kansas, and is in his final year of a Ph.D management-leadership program at Walden University. He has a wife, three daughters and two dogs.

“The tribes look forward to the community meeting John and getting a chance to feel the passion and energy he will bring to our organizations,” according to the news release.
