Pingree man killed in car accident
Today just before 12:20 p.m. Bingham County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 2 vehicle accident at 1200 west Highway 39.
The initial investigation shows 85-year-old Blaine VanOrden of Blackfoot was driving a pickup and failed to stop at a stop sign as he entered the highway.
VanOrden was hit by 53-year-old Stevan Lavon Atwood, who was driving north on Highway 39 in a car.
Atwood was taken by ambulance to Bingham Memorial Hospital where he died from injuries sustained in the crash.
A preliminary investigation shows Atwood was not wearing a seatbelt.
