Arrest made in triple murder

An arrest has been made in connection with the triple murder that occurred in Oneida County in April 2013.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that Severo Luera, 35, of Tremonton, Utah, was arrested on an Idaho felony warrant.

The sheriff’s office said it would not give further details because the investigation is still active.

The bodies of 61-year-old Brent L. Christensen, 32-year-old Trent Jon Christensen and 27-year-old Yavette Chivon Carter were found inside a home in the Holbrook area after a shooting incident April 4, 2013. Two children, one 2 years old and the other 2 months old, were found safe near the body of Carter, their mother.

Authorities said the property was a pit bull breeding ranch where dog fighting and marijuana growing were taking place.

Sixty-three dogs were found on the ranch. Many of them suffered from malnutrition and injuries.
