2 arrested after meth found in traffic stop

Two Rigby men were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking after a traffic stop Tuesday.

Around 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, a Bonneville County deputy stopped a car on U.S. Highway 20 near John’s Hole Bridge for a traffic violation. The deputy asked the driver if there was anything illegal in the vehicle. The driver said no and said the deputy could search the vehicle.

An Idaho Falls police officer with a K9 detected drugs in the vehicle. Police found 157.44 grams of methamphetamine.

Francisco Vega, 39, and Anastacio Pacheco-Luna, 55, were booked into the Bonneville County Jail.

When authorities searched the suspects at the jail, they found Pacheco-Luna had a smaller bag of .86 grams of meth on him, the sheriff’s office said.
