Man arrested after $2K in tires stolen

Idaho Falls police arrested a man they said stole 10 truck tires Tuesday night.

Officers were called to the Commercial Tire at 840 Mercury for a burglary alarm around 10:15 p.m. They saw Dennis C. Wilhelm, 20, of Idaho Falls, driving away from the compound.

They followed Wilhelm and tried to pull him over, but he drove away and was eventually stopped near 49th North and 26th West, police said. Officers found Wilhelm had the tires, valued at $200 each.

Wilhelm was arrested on charges of burglary, grand theft and felony eluding. He was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
