Thayne man killed in motorcycle crash

A Thayne, Wyoming man was killed around 2:50 p.m. Monday when his 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle crashed on US 212. According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Matthew S. Wickel,50, lost control of his motorcycle, crossed the center line and left the highway down a small hill.

Wickel and his passenger, Dawn Patterson, 58, of Grand Blanc, Michigan were both thrown from the motorcycle during the crash.

Wickel died at the scene. Patterson was transported by helicopter ambulance to Billings, Montana. Neither Wickel nor Patterson were wearing helmets.

Speed and weather conditions were being investigated as contributing factors to the crash. Rain and snowfall was present at the time of the accident.
