College students encouraged to get renter’s insurance
Going off to college can be liberating for most college students.
The thought of living on your own is a steady step towards adult-hood, however with comes new responsibilities. Off campus housing which are not affiliated with the college can be somewhat worrisome.
A parent’s homeowner’s insurance policy covers students who live on campus. But once a student moves off campus a whole new situation. Summer Jackman, a State Farm agent suggest homeowners insurance for students, because it will protect their property if stolen.
Bikes, lap tops, books and furniture in their dorms are all covered under renters insurance. And if something is stolen from your car, that’s covered too.
