Fort Hall man arrested for aggravated assault

An argument early Saturday morning led to the arrest of 40-year-old Nigel T. Worley for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to Idaho Falls Police, officers were called to the 800 block of Whittier at 12:22 a.m. for report of an assault in progress.

The victim stated that three men, including Worley, started yelling at him outside his residence. He claimed Worley threatened the victim with a knife.

Worley, of Fort Hall, was arrested at the corner of Whittier and North Wabash Avenue.

“The Shoshone-Bannock Tribe(s) are aware of criminal charges have been filed against Nigel Worley, the Tribes Assistant Fire Chief that occurred over the weekend in Bonneville county, Idaho. In response the Tribes has placed Worley upon investigative leave without pay.The Tribes are very concerned about these serious allegations and because this matter is pending the Tribes will have no further commentuntil the legal process has been concluded. “
