Red Flag Warnings posted for Wednesday

A cold front is expected to move in Wednesday, bringing strong winds and high fire danger.

A slow moving area of low pressure will dawdlein from Washington state and British Colombia. This air-mass is mostly dry, with a cool push of air heading towards Idaho.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Red Flag Warnings signal high fire danger with low humidity and gusty winds.

Winds for Wednesday afternoon will be sustained around 20 m.p.h., with gusts over 30 m.p.h.

There’s a slight chance of thunderstorms for Wednesday in our local mountains.

More moisture is expected to reach Idaho and Wyoming as tropical systems send storms along the Mexican West coast and Gulf of California.

The Weather Service says controlled burning is not recommended.
