Department of Labor’s new program aims to bring graduates back to Idaho

The Pocatello Department of Labor is introducing a program focused on bring back graduates who have left the state of Idaho for higher wages.

Jobs like nursing and welding are in high demand. Skilled technical workers is what the job market is looking for said Dan Craves, the Labor Department’s Regional Economist. U.S. census data collected reported that manufacturing was a top three employer in 25 states.

One Idaho State University welding student said he’s planning on leaving the state once he graduates.

“More money better opportunities outside of a small town, I do understand there is a high demand for back yard welding,” said Dylan Miles.
