Several small fires reported in eastern Idaho

A small fire was reported around 4 p.m. Sunday near Kepps Crossing east of Idaho Falls.

Eastern Idaho Interagency Fire Center Fire Information Officer Jessie Bender said the fire was contained at just over 2 acres Sunday night and was expected to be fully controlled by mid-afternoon Monday.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but may have been started by lightning.

Bender said a lightning storm ignited at least three small fires in the region Friday night. The largest was controlled at one quarter of an acre.
