Pocatellans mark 14 years since 9/11
It was a somber moment Friday as people gathered in front of the Bannock County Courthouse to remember the men and women who lost their lives in the 911 terror attacks.
Police officers and firefighters stood silently at the Bannock County Courthouse Friday morning as the trumpets played Taps.
One supporter said that we must not forget.
“It is important that we always remember our veterans, those who are home now, and those who are still serving in this war on terrorism,” said Ron Derrick.
He remembers being at work when he heard the news.
“It was just heartbreaking it just made you practically weak in your knees that we would sustain such an attack, knowing that we would rise to defend,” said Derrick.
