Henry’s Lake health advisory lifted

Eastern Idaho Public Health District and the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality have cancelled a health advisory at Henry’s Lake.

Latest water samples confirmed that levels of the blue-green algae species Microsystis, Anabaena, and Aphanizomenon have now fallen below concentrations of concern.

The agencies have been testing water at common access areas for two consecutive weeks. They found a reduction in algae density and the associated toxin, which can be harmful to pets and people.

The agencies are advising the public to avoid any isolated areas of algae, which may look like floating, white-gray paint.
