Man involved in police shooting incident faces charges

Ricky Mosely was booked into the Bonneville County jail at around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on a felony count of domestic battery with traumatic injury. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s office said Mosley was being held on $50,000 bond.

Mosely, 31, was released from Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Tuesday where he was being treated for gunshot wounds. Mosely was shot by police officers during a confrontation at the Exxon gas station at Yellowstone and N. Woodruff on June 29th.

The sheriff’s office performed a felony traffic stop on Mosley. An investigative team determined Mosley refused to comply with several repeated requests from officers to show his hands.

Officers tried to resolve the situation with a Taser, but Mosley moved toward them in a shooting stance, compelling officers to fire their weapons.

Bonneville County Prosecutor Danny Clark determined it was a justified use of force by the police officers involved.
