Fall colors showing up around Eastern Idaho
Fall is here again, and with that comes changing leaves.
The Sinclair gas station in Ririe is already having people pass through on their way to see the leaves in Swan Valley, but in the next couple of weeks, those colors will be a little closer to home.
In Island Park, the colors are coming out in full force. The magnificent reds, yellows, and oranges on full display.
In Kelly Canyon the tops of trees are starting to turn, and along the Snake River by Heise Hot Springs, there are a few trees that have changed all the way.
“If you’re going to travel and see the fall colors, my best advice is slow down. Don’t be in such a hurry, and get out of your car. Don’t try to take pictures as your going down the road, don’t try to take pictures out of the window.” Says First Alert Forecaster Steve Cannon, “Everybody has a cell phone, and every cell phone has a camera. So get out. Put the blanket on the ground. Enjoy the day, take a picnic.”
More leaves are expected to change once nighttime temperatures reach freezing, and the days get shorter.
