Man involved in police shooting sentenced

The man shot by police after a brief standoff outside an Idaho Falls gas station June 29th agreed to a plea agreement in 7th District Court Wednesday.

Ricky Mosely,31, pleaded guilty to reduced charges of domestic battery and obstructing a police officer, both misdemeanors.

Bonneville County Deputy Prosecutor John Dewey said Mosley was sentenced by Judge Mark Riddoch on the domestic violence charge to 180 days in jail. He’ll serve 88 days and was given credit for 28 days. He was also ordered to treatment for domestic violence and substance abuse and two years of supervised probation.

Mosely was sentenced to a suspended, consecutive 90 day jail term for obstructing an officer and two years of probation.

Mosely will be eligible for parole within 60 days. He is attempting to have his probation moved to the state of California.
