Shelley man pleads not guilty to murder charge
Brian J. Mitchell of Shelley pleaded not guilty in the death of Deraek Patrick Larson. Mitchell was arraigned before 7th District Judge Dane Watkins, Jr. Tuesday.
Mitchell is charged with 2nd degree murder. A jury trial was set for April 4, 2016. He was being held on $500,000 bond.
Larson was found dead at around 10 a.m. on Sunday, August 16th by passerby in the playground area of Tautphaus Park. Police said it appeared Larson had been stabbed 20 times.
