Update: Juvenile Suspect in custody for shooting at buses

Update: Bonneville County Sheriff’s office has a juvenile in custody in connection to the incident. The investigation has shown the damage to the buses was caused by a pellet/BB gun.

Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident where a bus window on two different buses was shattered suddenly as the bus was driving on 17th Street near the rail road tracks. The incidents happened around 4 p.m.

There were five people on the bus at the time: three students, a paraprofessional, and the bus driver. No one were hurt and the students were transferred to another bus to allow the sheriff’s office to investigate.

Bonneville Joint School District 93 is working with the sheriff’s office to help in the investigation.

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s office has taken the on board security camera footage from both buses to see to help them identify just what happened.

District 93 officials want to reassure the community that the safety of the students is always a top priority and that they will do everything they can to assist in the investigation.
