Teaching in rural schools
Getting teachers into rural areas is an ongoing problem, and one school district is working to change that.
Joel Wilson became the superintendent for Butte County Schools in July- and among all of the usual difficulties he faces, he’s working to combat a major one in rural schools.
“I don’t think it’s a problem that’s specific to Arco I think it’s an Idaho and a nationwide problem. I think teachers are kind of held up as the problem but the teachers I know and the teachers I’ve worked with are very dedicated going the extra mile for our kids, “said Joel Wilson, Butte County School District superintendent.
