Update: City of Idaho Falls ends snow proclamation

Update: The City of Idaho Falls has officially called an end to the snow proclamation. All parking restrictions have now been lifted.

Original story: The city of Idaho Falls is declaring a snow alert effective Saturday. All city residents and businesses are encouraged to move vehicles off the streets as quickly as possible.

Any vehicle left on the streets in violation of the ordinance may be towed immediately and stored at the owner’s expense.

Although parking restrictions are only in effect during the times listed below, snowplow crews will remain on duty throughout the night, if necessary.

Snow removal restrictions for Zones A and B are in effect as follows:

ZONE A North-south streets: Parking restrictions will be in effect between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday beginning on Monday, Feb. 1.

East-west streets: Parking restrictions will be in effect between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday beginning on Tuesday, Feb. 2.

ZONE B Parking restrictions will be in effect on all streets between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. beginning on Saturday, Jan. 30. Vehicles should be moved off the public streets as quickly as possible. Other parking restrictions already in effect include:

DOWNTOWN North-south streets: Parking restrictions will be in effect between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. East-west streets: Parking restrictions will be in effect between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
