BYU-Idaho reaches largest winter semester enrollment in school history
Enrollment numbers are the highest they’ve ever been for a winter semester at Brigham Young University-Idaho according to a press release sent out by the school.
Statistics released for Winter Semester 2016 show a total campus enrollment of 17,714 students, an increase of 5.8 percent over last winter’s campus enrollment of 16,738. This semester the campus student body consists of 9,064 male students and 8,650 female students, (51.2 percent and 48.8 percent respectively). The number of married students is 4,394, comprising 24.8 percent of the total campus student population. On-campus students who have served full-time missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints number 9,852 (55.6 percent).
Enrollment statistics also show BYU-Idaho’s online courses and degree programs are growing rapidly, with the university continuing to serve more students off campus than on campus. The number of online students, including Pathway, for Winter Semester 2016 is 22,302, an increase of 24 percent compared to this time last year. For Winter Semester 2015 that number was 17,979.
