Company finds jobs for people with disabilites
Landing a job isn’t the easiest task, and it’s even more difficult if you’re young and have a disability.
Transitions is a company who focuses on getting people who live with an impairment jobs.
Vocational specialist, Nin Dixon said, “People that have difficulties getting jobs, we help them get the jobs that they want when people won’t even give them a chance.”
Dixon said they help people with visual and mental impairments.
“Anybody that struggles finding a job we are willing to help them,” Dixon said.
Daniel Brown was one of their students that needed coaching before he got his job working part-time for Carl’s Jr.
Dixson said, “I asked where he wanted to work and he said Carl’s Jr. So I helped him apply and get him ready.”
General Manager, Colton Marker, said he’s noticed more customers filling out compliment cards.
“Customers compliment how clean the lobby is and Daniel’s been interacting with customers and they seem to love it,” Marker said.
According to the U.S. Department of Education, workers with disabilities are rated consistently as average or above average in performance, quality and quantity of work, flexibility, and attendance.
