Woman dies in Bingham County accident

One woman has died in an auto accident on highway 26 west of Moreland Wednesday evening.

Idaho State Police report the accident happened around 7 p.m. on highway 26 near the intersection with 1500 West.

73-year-oldGayle Giles of Shelley, was eastbound on 26. Police say Giles was driving at a slow speed and was straddling the dividing line. 62-year-old Lynn Marlow of Rigby, was also eastbound.

Marlow struck Giles from behind. Giles was transported to Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts, the investigation is ongoing.

The road was closed for several hours as ISP investigated the crash.
