Lemhi prosecutor drops charges against Boise man
UPDATE: Lemhi County Prosecutor Paul Withers has dropped a charge of Voluntary Manslaughter previously filed against Jedidiah Barton of Boise.
Withers asked the court to dismiss the charge without prejudice. ‘
Withers stated that “After careful review of the evidence collected and the information still outstanding, including autopsy results, I have dismissed the charge. I have the capability of refiling charges if, by a later review of the evidence, I find that to be appropriate.”

Jedidiah Barton, 29, of Boise, is being held in the Lemhi County Jail on a charge of homicide.
According to a news release, Lemhi County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched on a 911 call to 662 Highway 93 North, just north of Salmon, at around 5:32 p.m. Saturday.
A female caller told dispatchers a man had been shot. Three deputies went to the “Big Flat” area and assisted in CPR. The victim was transported to Steele Memorial Hospital, where he died.
The man was identified as former Salmon resident Jordan Stenersen. Stenersen, 32, was most recently living in Minnesota.
Lemhi County Coroner Mike Ernest said Stenersen’s body was taken to Boise for an autopsy to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
