Update: Police arrest man for stabbing in Idaho Falls

Update 4:56 p.m.: More details have been released about the stabbing at the Common Cents location on 17th Street in Idaho Falls.

According to a press release from the Idaho Falls Police Department, officers arrived at Common Center around 12:16 a.m. for a report of a stabbing.

There, witnesses told police Cristian Jesus Salgado fled the scene by car.

Police found Salgado on Sunnyside Road and tried to initiate a traffic stop. Salgado increased his speed and turned onto Yellowstone Avenue before turning onto West 65th South.

Salgado lost control of his car, causing it to spin and roll multiple times. He and his female passenger were taken toEastern Idaho Regional Medical Center via ground ambulance.

Salgado received a medical clearance and was then transported to jail.

There is still no information on the stabbing victim’s condition.

Original Story: Police arrested a man after he stabbed another person at a gas station in Idaho Falls early Saturday morning.

It happened at Common Cents on 17th Street around midnight.

Police said Cristian Jesus Salgado stabbed an unnamed victim.

That victim is being treated at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, but there is no update on their condition.

Salgado is facing two felony charges: aggravated battery and eluding an officer. He is also facing two misdemeanors for driving under the influence and failure to produce a driver’s license.

Salgado has been booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
