$10,000 donation to Ririe Senior Center

It’s not unusual for charities to donate some money to worthy causes. But the Ririe Senior Citizens Center never expected a donation this big. As a local nonprofit, Mountain View Charity looks for different programs in the community that aid underserved populations, to give them the funding they need.

Mountain View Charity donates to southeastern Idaho individuals and organizations that enrich the community. Mimi Taylor, Mountain View Charity board chair, they explained that Ririe Senior Center was a perfect fit with their mission statement.

“We were so impressed with the work they do out here. The effort and time they put in as volunteers to help make sure that seniors in this community are fed, have a place to meet, exercise, to have social interaction.”

Mountain View Charity’s generous donation will be the jumpstart the senior center needs. It will go toward essential facility improvements, and toward programs in Jefferson, Madison and Bonneville counties.

Senior Center President, Jim Wilson says, “We’re very excited here in the community for the senior center especially because we try hard to find funds available to help us to keep functioning and so forth.”

These funds will play an integral part in renovating the Senior Center to allow the origination to better help and assist their clients. The center also helps more than just senior citizens– it is working toward bridging a gap that will allow it to serve all sectors of its community.

The lighting inside the building and kitchen upgrades are the two main projects the center has in mind for the $10,000 received.
