Howell named as superintendent for Pocatello Chubbuck school district

The Pocatello/Chubbuck School Board announced today that Dr. Doug Howell’s position as interim school superintendent has been changed to a permanent position as superintendent.

The board of trustees originally took action to make Howell the permanent superintendent in February and the change was approved by the State Board of Education in March.

“Dr. Howell has provided great leadership for the District and in the community as interim superintendent,” says board chair Janie Gebhardt. “We are pleased to have his continued professionalism and leadership as we navigate the waters of school improvement and reform.”

Dr. Howell has held many leadership positions within the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District. He taught and coached at Alameda Jr. High for eleven years, served as an elementary and secondary building administrator for five years and began his district office administrative duties in 2006 as human resources director.
