Two arrested for drug possession and misdemeanor injury to a child

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s office has arrested Tanner Baker and Ashley Tonks on multiple charges including drug possession and misdemeanor injury to a child.

Both Baker and Tonks have been booked into the Bonneville County Jail.

On April 23, 2016, at approximately 12:20 am a Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputy noticed a suspicious vehicle in the Trellis Square Business Park on 14th N. in Ammon. When deputies made contact they found that a male and female adult were inside along with two toddler-age children.

Both the male and female provided false names to the deputy but were later identified as Ashley Tonks and Tanner Baker. During the investigation, the deputy could smell the odor of burnt marijuana and conducted a search of the vehicle which produced a small amount of suspected marijuana, methamphetamine, and several items of drug paraphernalia. Also during the search a loaded handgun was located in the area where Baker was sitting.

Once the identity of Tonks and Baker were confirmed they were found to have outstanding warrants and were taken to the Bonneville County Jail. The 2 children were released to their mother who had arrived at the scene during the investigation, they had been in the care of Tonks and Baker.

Tonks was booked into jail for her warrants (one felony probation violation and two misdemeanor warrants), possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, providing false information to law enforcement, two counts of misdemeanor injury to achild, and failure to purchase a driver’s license.

Baker was booked into jail for his warrants (one misdemeanor battery, one misdemeanor order to show cause), possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, felon in possession of a firearm, and providing false information to law enforcement.
